The Lincoln Museum - Marion, Alabama
Preserving, Revitalizing, and Perpetuating
the Lincoln School Legacy
The idea of having a Lincoln Museum surfaced many years ago, on many occasions: first in 1939 at the dedication of Phillips Memorial Auditorium; then in 1967 at the Ft. Wayne reunion; and later in the incorporation papers of the Lincolnite Club(1977).
Following the initial steps, ideas continued to flow as goals and plans began to materialize for the museum. The Lincoln Memorial Museum became a reality and was didicated on Sunday, April 21, 2002.
The Lincoln Museum shows and tells the Lincoln story by housing the artifacts, historical documents, memorabilia, videos, photos, newspaper articles, etc, and also provides a "showcase for the culture of the community," thus perpetuating the legacy of Lincoln school.
